Frank was born in Cape Town, South Africa and grew up in Johannesburg.
Frank has always done a lot of personal and experimental work and has continually tried new techniques. He has recently become heavily involved in digital enhancement and is fascinated by the possibilities of the computer; to Frank this is the dark room of the present. Now living in East London with girlfriend and baby son.link

In 2000, Began working as Piana.
In June 2003, she released her first album “snow bird” on a Japanese label, cubic music. In November “snow bird” was licensed to Happy label in New York for worldwide release.
In June 2004, she embarked on a successful Asian tour covering Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao.
In October 2005, she released her second album “ephemeral” on Happy label.
In December 2005, she went on the 7 cities tour (including Stockholm, Sweden) as a launching tour for “ephemeral”.
In March 2006, she visited Oslo, Norway to shoot the music video of “something is lost”, the first track of her 2nd album.
In October 2006, she released a collaboration e.p. with Her Space Holiday and Joseph Nothing.
In June 2007, she will release her 3rd album on noble label.
In June 2007, she will perform at Sonar Festival 2007 in Barcelona.

Lately I have been working almost exclusively with white paper in different objects, paper cuts, installations and performances. Some of these objects and installations are copies of stairs and ladders made out of thin paper. These works derive from my earlier work, Bridge and Still life, dealing with dreams and the impossible - but here in a more fragile and almost sublime version.link

Café Lumière (珈琲時光) is a 2003 japanese film directed by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-Hsien for Shochiku as homage to Yasuhiro Ozu, with direct reference to the late master's Tokyo story (1953).
The Radio Dept. was formed by Elin Almered and Johan Duncanson in 1995 who were in the school together in their early teenage. The name was taken from a gas station/radio repairer shop in Lund, sweden which had a large sign with the name "Radioavdelningen, ("The Radio Department" in Swedish) hanging outside their shop.
